Actually I do want to date - if said date gives me a reason to shave my legs and wear a skirt/dress and heels. I miss feeling like a lady. That is all. Seriously who wouldn't want an excuse to wear these gorgeous shoes or something like them - since buying them is obviously not an option...

Sorry Long Time, No Blog
But I am here now to do some kind of simplified epic update of sorts:
1. Went shopping last weekend with Just Sayin' - awesome woman, funny, gracious and witty - you should check out her blog. We weren't successful shopping though - and this is where I will say, if you ever are having a meh day shopping, try it again. Case in point - I was trying on some dresses and in the end I was in like with them, but not love and the prices while reasonable, weren't eye catching. The same with some shoes I saw... and so on and so forth. However,
2. Went shopping with A (new roommate) and we did extremely well at the B and JF. At JF I purchased a black trench, 2 cardigans and a dress for X's graduation or his niece's christening all for 100 with tax. At the B, I purchased a pair of Nine West heels and a pair of Ralph Lauren dress stilettos for 180 with tax - saving $90 due to sales. Before I have X or Ms. J down my throat - the Nine West are black peep toe pumps, useful for EVERYTHING and the dress stilettos? They go with my NYC dress!! The darn well annoying to find shoes for Grecian purple/cornflower blue dress bought in Greenwich Village.
3. Started studying for the GRE again, this time I need to find the desire to just do it. I will let you know if that desire is at the bottom of my Americano
4. Started contact lenses. I have access to free contacts with my job, and figured it is high time I get used to them so I am not doing the glasses/sunglasses thing all summer - seemingly having one on top of my head and the other on my face at all times...
5. My soon to be ex-neighbour has apparently found herself a girlfriend after the last 4 years of really minor dating. Fabulous right? Well see the thing is, they like to shag really loudly every Saturday morning. And to the men who think it's a turn on, it's actually frightfully embarrassing to hear it with the clarity as if I was standing next to their bed. I have found that I need to either stay in bed until about 10:30/11 or go for a run and then return to my room with noise.
6. I have become the town whore in a FB group that a mentee of mine set up. She's young, naive and green as they get - all the things I was at her age (well less so but close enough) and she's asking very personal though important questions of those women older than her. The problem is these are the kind of women who believe feminism is evil, birth control - of any form is abortive (Lord have mercy on my soul for the anger that statement causes to swell), and that courting not dating is the way to go and that dating in general is wrong. I could honestly write a whole blog in and of itself on all the craziness that is their beliefs and how they have NOTHING to do with my faith or anything. However, I've come to realize that they're what seasoned users of social networking call trolls. And you don't feed the trolls. So I might just feed you all my answers as to why I think birth control is a good thing, or why I think we should date and no date does not equal screw the entire human race, contrary to some people's opinions *le sigh* I am cutting myself off, you get the point
7. Oddly I know there is lots more but that's about it for now

Things that make me smile...
I'm having a little emotionally bumpy week (for lots of reasons) but fear not it is on the upswing. I have decided to embrace the changes - the life and hair changes - goodness I think I should have done this whole hair thing on impulse and not after dwelling on it for months. The best way to embrace change is with something new - like new shoes. And shoes are the best thing for making me feel better - Ms. J actually has many pictures of me in NYC gawking at shoes in window displays.
Drumroll...
Yes it official I have had enough of winter - bring on the skirts and the cute shoes.

Shopping...
I go through odd shopping phases. What I mean is I have a list of basics above my desk - things I should consider investing in before anything else. This list is enough to keep me out of the malls these days because I know that to invest in them would not be much of an investment for the following reasons: I am in the middle of marathon training season - my weight keeps dropping in weird ways (read my ass is the same size though everything else is shrinking) and once I stop running I know there is a small amount of weight gain that is inevitable. So if it fits perfect now, it might not fit later either way - and I am fine with it to be honest. This problem though I think is why smart smart men like Choo, Louboutin et al developed gorgeous heels.
I am a shoe addict. I will admit this with no hesitation at all and yet I will justify it with the following. I have a periwinkle/purple dress that was purchased in NYC and I am finally okay with my body to wear - it is clingy and Grecian inspired - those long straps wrap in a criss-cross fashion across the waist... but the grey BCBG heels that I also purchased in NYC are a little dull. Not in their attitude, but in their colouring, so I was considering these.
I love them - I think they are a great classic - but I'm not sure they suit the dress - I was thinking a more delicate shoe is necessary - but alas this is not the season for it, so I will likely pull out the coral dress with black tights for the Valentines Day and Annual Non-Anniversary celebrations...
The other issue is I convocate this summer - and my post secondary institution believes that Navy and Red are wonderful colours. I concur - but it makes finding something that coordinates under the gown hard. The gowns are open - and while most don't care about how it looks - I do darn it. So this dress is the winner - it will be purchased ever so shortly - it's wonderful because the waist can be taken in if need be, there is room for my curvy lower half, and it keeps the girls that are always trying to escape in check.... I just need shoes for it? Ideas? Navy? Nude? Animal Print?
Note: I would be wearing it without the petticoat

For the love of all the that is beautiful - like these Stella McCartney's what the NLLL is wrong with me it's only been a month and oh bloody hell I'm losing my NLLL mind, this is beyond wrong - I need a lobotamy or something

Shoes
So while we (I) am looking for that ring, I am also shockingly looking at your shoes. Yes your shoes. Shoes basically sum you up in a quick pass over if of course that ring isn't there. Now you may think me crazy, then again you likely already do anyways.
I wish I could show you an example from Ms. J and my recent trip (but that would reveal who I am, no?), sitting behind me at a cafe is a man dressed in expensive casual attire, however he has on equally expensive dress shoes. While he is in a shirt and polo, he has his socks pulled up and dress shoes. This would be the occasion for less formal footwear. My assumption at this sight is he either has spent a large amount of money on said shoes and none left over for more appropriate footwear or he's really just clueless about his image...
I know it seems unfair, it's usually the duty of a girlfriend to mold and shape your errors...but since you might have one and I have no one to nag - AB was even decent enough to avoid critique...
I offer these suggestions - one pair good/new looking/well taken care of/comfortable black dress shoes and the same in a chocolate brown color. One pair of casual shoes, runners for exercise (of course), and some kind of summer shoe unless you live in the far far North... but no chunky mandal looking thing... Obviously there is room for personal style and taste and those get bonus points if you pull them off. Before you start complaining one quarter of my shoe collection sits under my desk at work and it includes:
3 different styles of black shoes (two w/different heel heights, one suede 4inch wedge - almost same as picture to give you an idea of what a "wedge" is - don't her toes look SO comfortable?)
1 pair gray suede wedge (2 inches)
1 pair purple suede pumps (2 1/2 inches)
1 pair teal suede flats (1 inch)
1 pair teal suede flats (1 inch)
1 pair brown leather sling back (2 1/2 inches)
My other office has two pairs black shoes, one pair brown. At home I have more than I really want to count because I'm always on the hunt for more to "round out the collection." Really is it too much to ask for a man to have 5 decent pairs that cover all the basics?
Simple, no?

Aww Hell No
Of all things, I have found myself in the awkward pseudo GF role, okay so I was fine when it was just AB and I doing things, or a large group, but we've been socially paired off as of late and I'm about to smack my head against a wall until this is all over... Like last night, he's going out of town and had some "friends" (two other guys + his roommate) over for dinner before he left for a while today, and ya AWKWARD... For the love of Peter, Paul and Manolo Blahniks how did we get here... really aren't we breaking some kind of social etiquette? To be honest I'm starting to feel like a cad myself, seeing BV who I know is actually interested and spending time with AB with whom I'm developing the relationship in mid sentence if you want call it that...
That's it, I've had enough. I know that I will likely have to keep repeating that over and over and over again to myself. Because at the end of all this I feel like my brain is rotting and I'm being reduced to something other than myself somehow unbeknownst to me
